Food Inspector

Conducting food safety audits for food businesses, verifying their compliance with company's regulations, and performing pre-commissioning inspections for new food business units.

Ensure timely submission of audit reports, maintain confidentiality of commercial information, and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented to uphold food safety standards and public health.

Core Duties

• Conduct food safety audits: Perform audits of food businesses to assess their food safety practices and systems.
• Verify compliance: Check that the Food Business Operator (FBO) adheres to the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) and its associated rules and regulations.
• Conduct pre-commissioning inspections: Inspect and verify newly established food business units before they start operations, as directed by the FSSAI.
• Report audit findings: Forward the audit reports to the company Food Authority within a specified timeframe.
• Monitor follow-up actions: Ensure that the FBO takes necessary corrective actions to address any identified issues or non-compliance.
• Maintain confidentiality: Protect the confidentiality of commercially sensitive information obtained during the audit process.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Planning and organization: The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize audit tasks effectively.
• Communication: Strong reading, writing, and communication skills are essential for interacting with FBOs and preparing reports.
• Attention to detail: Keen attention to detail is crucial for identifying non-compliance and ensuring thoroughness in audits.
• Knowledge of food safety: A deep understanding of food safety hazards, controls, and relevant legislation is fundamental.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
