Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Daily Operations Management

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the cafeteria, pantry, vending machines, and break-out areas.
  • Ensure timely preparation and service of meals, snacks, and beverages.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.

2. Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate with external catering vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure vendors follow contractual obligations and meet SLAs.
  • Conduct regular vendor meetings and performance reviews.

3. Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (FSSAI or internal standards).
  • Conduct regular cleanliness inspections of dining areas, kitchens, and storage.
  • Monitor staff hygiene and grooming.

4. Staff Supervision

  • Manage cafeteria staff, pantry boys, stewards, and housekeeping support assigned to F&B.
  • Create duty rosters, assign tasks, and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Train staff on service standards, hygiene, and customer service.

5. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials, beverages, disposables, cutlery, etc.
  • Coordinate with vendors for timely replenishment.
  • Prevent wastage and ensure proper storage practices.

6. Customer Service & Employee Experience

  • Handle employee feedback, complaints, and special requests.
  • Ensure smooth service during peak hours (breakfast, lunch).
  • Improve overall dining experience through service quality enhancements.

7. Financial & Administrative Tasks

  • Support F&B budgeting, cost control, and consumption tracking.
  • Verify vendor bills and ensure accuracy before processing.
  • Assist in menu planning, pricing, and food cost optimization.

8. Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure safety compliance in kitchen equipment usage.
  • Maintain documentation related to audits, checklists, and food safety reports.
  • Support internal and external audits related to F&B services.

9. Event Support

  • Coordinate catering for corporate meetings, conferences, and special events.
  • Plan menu, setup, and service arrangements as per event requirements.
