Fleet Safety and Performance Coach

As a Fleet Safety & Performance Coach at V.Group, your role is to build and maintain a high performing safety culture onboard vessels to support Ship Management operations. This will involve visiting and sailing with vessels, including extensive worldwide travel, as well as working on weekends. - Promote a "Safety is for me" culture and facilitate the implementation of V.Group core values. - Conduct a thorough training needs analysis onboard and observe the safety culture by following standard company procedures. - Identify hazardous conditions and work practices, explain their importance to the crew, and work on eliminating these factors with the crew. - Contribute to finding constructive solutions to improve HSE performance and assist the crew in finding safe solutions in daily work routines. - Increase personnel awareness of risks so they can make their own risk assessments. - Provide on-board training and instruction, including standard courses, additional training materials, drills, and exercises. - Undertake ship safety inspections and audits, noting deficiencies and recommendations. - Conduct incident investigations under the instruction from the HSE Group. - Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures during inspections. - Undertake Ship Security Assessment and prepare Ship Security Plan to class for approval. - Provide on-board security training in accordance with company materials. - Submit reports within 2 days of disembarking the vessel. - Class 1 Master Mariner or suitable experience at a senior level onboard. - Dangerous cargo endorsement where appropriate. - Experience in ISM Auditing, Vetting Inspections, and ISM, SSO & CSO certification. - Good understanding of statutory requirements, regulations, and marine codes of practice. - Good communication skills and ability to interact with management office and crew at all levels. - Proficient in report writing and presenting materials in English.
