Role Overview: The Finance Controller is responsible for leading and managing the companys financial accounting, reporting, and compliance functions. This role involves overseeing daily finance operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and implementing robust internal controls. The Finance Controller will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and maintain the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization. Roles & Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions. Prepare and analyze financial reports for senior management, highlighting key trends, variances, and actionable insights. Accounting Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. Ensure all processes are executed with accuracy, efficiency, and in compliance with internal policies. Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of key accounts. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and provide strategic insights to support business decisions. Internal Controls: Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and facilitating audit processes. Compliance: Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including tax filings and financial reporting standards. Stay abreast of updates in accounting standards and regulatory changes that may affect the organization. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial operations and reporting through process optimization and system improvements. Lead or contribute to initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy. Team Leadership: Provide mentorship, direction, and support to the accounting team. Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment and contribute to the professional development of team members. Preferred candidate profile Minimum 15 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a solid background in financial reporting and general ledger oversight. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) CPA or CMA designation (preferred) Experience in a supervisory or managerial role (preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements Proficient in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, along with advanced Excel skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
