1. Job Purpose
The Field Buyer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing raw materials directly
from the field, suppliers, and markets. The role involves supplier visits, quality checking,
negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of materials as per company requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Procurement & Sourcing (Field Work)
• Source and procure raw materials from fields, farmers, brokers, and suppliers. Conduct
field visits to check quality, availability, and market conditions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, and local traders.
• Monitor daily market prices and ensure competitive purchasing.
B. Quality Inspection (Field & Warehouse)
• Perform pre-purchase quality checks (moisture, impurities, density, grading, aroma,
etc.),
• Ensure proper loading, sorting, and packaging during dispatch. Report quality deviations
immediately to the concerned team.
C. SAP & Documentation
• Purchase Bill Creation: Prepare and process purchase bills in SAP on time.
• Stock Updation: Update stock details in SAP and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Payment Requests: Create and process purchase payment requests in SAP.
• APMC Activities: Update APMC stock and prepare APMC payment requests as per
regulatory norms.

• Job Work Management: Handle job-work documentation and system entries with full
traceability.
• Stock Transfer: Manage stock transfer documentation and SAP entries between
locations.
D. Warehouse Coordination
• Coordinate with warehouse teams for material receipt, storage, and dispatch.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels and maintain updated stock registers.
• Prepare and maintain expense statements for audits and reporting.
E. Additional Responsibilities
• Perform any other operational or administrative tasks assigned by management.
• Travel extensively as required for field operations.
3. Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of raw material quality parameters.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, SAP entries, and documentation.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, emails, WhatsApp reporting).
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills proficiency in the Kannada language is
a must.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
4. Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum: Diploma or Graduation preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in field purchasing or Agro-commodity procurement.
• Two-wheeler license preferred; ability to travel extensively.
