Fiber Optic Engineer

As a candidate for this full-time role with our client in Chennai, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and management of fiber optic systems according to client requirements during the tender phase. Your primary purpose will be to support tendering by analyzing and reviewing fiber requirements, estimating costs, developing design reports and installation guides, and staying updated with the latest fiber optic technology advancements. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to effectively communicate with global stakeholders, clients, and suppliers, your self-driven attitude, your eagerness to learn, and your structured approach. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and review fiber requirements in tender technical specification documents - Develop effective designs and solutions - Estimate costs for materials, accessories, production, installation, and type tests - Develop comprehensive design reports, installation guides, and manuals - Engage in technical discussions with clients and suppliers - Stay updated with advancements in fiber optic technology - Prepare clear clarification questions for clients and address unclear requirements - Coordinate with internal departments during the tender phase - Handle technical clarification with suppliers and obtain quotes for products/materials - Interact with clients as needed to understand requirements and clarify design solutions - Continuously seek opportunities to improve the tender process Education: - B.E / M.E in Mechanical / Electrical / Optical Engineering or equivalent in the field of physics Experience: - 1+ years of experience in Fiber optics in areas such as NPD, R&D, Tendering, or Project Management Travel: - International traveling may be required for training and projects This role offers you the opportunity to work with various departments internally, the installation team, clients, and suppliers.
