Role & responsibilities We are seeking an experienced and proactive Foreman & Sr. Fitter to oversee and manage mechanical operations and maintenance in the Ferro Alloys division of our steel plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of mechanical equipment, reducing downtime, and enhancing reliability and performance of plant assets. Key Responsibilities Manage mechanical maintenance of Ferro Alloy furnaces, conveyors, crushers, briquetting machines, and associated utilities. Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance schedules are followed strictly to minimize breakdowns. Monitor equipment performance and implement continuous improvements for reliability and efficiency. Coordinate with electrical and production teams to ensure smooth operations. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis. Manage spare parts inventory, procurement planning, and cost control. Supervise and lead maintenance teams, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Prepare and maintain maintenance records, reports, and documentation. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Key Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of mechanical systems in Ferro Alloy or Steel manufacturing. Expertise in rotary and static equipment maintenance. Knowledge of refractory lining, hydraulic systems, and gearbox/gear unit maintenance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good leadership, team management, and communication skills. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and MS Office tools.
