AGM/ DGM - Mechanical - Ferro Alloys - (BFCL)

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Maintenance & Operations

• Oversee mechanical maintenance of

  Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF)

  ,

  power plant auxiliaries

  ,

  material handling systems

  ,

  cooling towers

  , and

  crusher units

  .
• Ensure smooth operation of

  Ferro Alloys production lines

  (FeMn, SiMn, FeSi).
• Plan preventive, predictive & shutdown maintenance and ensure zero-breakdown culture.
  
• Monitor performance of critical equipment: gearboxes, conveyors, cranes, pumps, compressors, blowers, and hydraulic systems.
  

2. Project & Installation

• Lead mechanical projects for furnace upgradation, new equipment installation, and capacity expansion.
  
• Vendor finalization, technical evaluation, BOQ preparation & project scheduling.
  
• Ensure compliance with quality & safety standards during erection & commissioning.
  

3. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Work closely with purchase team for sourcing mechanical spares, consumables, fabrication items, and capital equipment.
  
• Develop & maintain qualified vendors for critical spare parts.
  
• Cost negotiation, rate finalization & contract management.
  

4. Team Leadership

• Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians & contractors.
  
• Ensure proper skill development, shift planning & manpower management.
  
• Promote safety culture and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  

5. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure statutory compliance related to mechanical maintenance.
  
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and equipment history cards.
  
• Create and update SOPs for all critical mechanical operations.
  

Required Skills

• Strong technical knowledge of

  DRI/Ferro Alloys mechanical systems

• Expertise in

  furnace maintenance, heavy equipment,

  and

  rotating machinery

  .
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD

  , maintenance ERP/CMMS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving & leadership skills.
