Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Faculty Member to join our institution’s Nautical Science department. The successful candidate will teach and mentor cadets enrolled in the Advanced Diploma in Nautical Science program, following the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), UK curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the training and development of the next generation of maritime professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in alignment with the MCA UK syllabus for the Advanced Diploma in Nautical Science.
  • Prepare and update lesson plans, teaching materials, and practical exercises.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to cadets both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Conduct practical training sessions, simulator exercises, and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate student records, monitor progress, and provide timely feedback.
  • Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and relevant maritime events.
Qualifications
  • Master Mariner (FG) Certificate of Competency or higher recognized by the MCA (UK) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant sea service experience in a senior officer capacity.
  • Prior teaching/training experience (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Thorough knowledge of the MCA UK advanced diploma syllabus and examination procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high standards in maritime education and cadet welfare.
Additional Requirements
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Familiarity with latest teaching technologies and simulation tools.
  • Willingness to contribute to institute activities beyond teaching assignments.
