As a Faculty Member at B.P. Marine & Hotel Management Academy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of aspiring maritime professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver engaging and effective instruction to cadets enrolled in the Advanced Diploma in Nautical Science program, following the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), UK curriculum. By preparing and updating lesson plans, teaching materials, and practical exercises, you will ensure that students receive comprehensive training that aligns with industry standards. In addition to classroom teaching, you will provide guidance, mentorship, and support to cadets, helping them navigate the challenges of their educational journey. Practical training sessions, simulator exercises, and assessments will be essential components of your role, allowing you to evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback for improvement. Maintaining accurate student records and actively participating in curriculum development initiatives will contribute to the overall success of the program. To excel in this position, you must hold a Master Mariner (FG) Certificate of Competency or higher recognized by the MCA (UK) or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years of relevant sea service experience in a senior officer capacity is required, along with a thorough understanding of the MCA UK advanced diploma syllabus and examination procedures. While prior teaching/training experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a commitment to upholding high standards in maritime education and cadet welfare. Proficiency in English, both oral and written, is a must, as is familiarity with the latest teaching technologies and simulation tools.
