Factory Head

Position Summary

The Factory Head Refrigeration is responsible for overall operations, production, quality, maintenance, safety, and profitability of the refrigeration manufacturing facility. This role ensures timely production of highquality refrigeration systems/products while maintaining cost efficiency, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement across all factory functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production

• Lead endtoend factory operations including production planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Ensure achievement of production targets (volume, quality, cost, and delivery timelines).
• Optimize capacity utilization, manpower deployment, and workflow efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Refrigeration Manufacturing Oversight

• Oversee manufacturing of refrigeration systems/equipment (e.g., chillers, cold rooms, HVAC/R units, compressors, heat exchangers).
• Ensure adherence to refrigeration standards, specifications, and best practices.
• Drive process standardization and product reliability.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ISO/industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory norms.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.
• Maintain audit readiness and manage internal/external quality audits.

4. Maintenance & Utilities

• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Improve equipment uptime and reduce downtime through robust maintenance systems.
• Oversee utilities including power, compressed air, water, refrigeration testing facilities, etc.

5. Cost Control & Budgeting

• Prepare and manage factory budgets, controlling manufacturing costs and overheads.
• Reduce scrap, rework, energy consumption, and wastage.
• Drive productivity improvements and costsaving initiatives.

6. Supply Chain & Inventory

• Coordinate with procurement, stores, and logistics for uninterrupted material flow.
• Optimize inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG) to support production plans.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and traceability of refrigeration components.

7. People Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop production, quality, maintenance, and support teams.
• Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and build a highperformance culture.
• Ensure discipline, attendance, and skill upgradation of workforce.

8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a zeroaccident culture and conduct regular safety training.
• Oversee statutory compliances related to factories act, labor laws, and environmental norms.

9. Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with senior management, design/engineering, sales, and service teams.
• Provide regular MIS reports on production, quality, costs, and KPIs.
• Support new product development and industrialization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Refrigeration / Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 12–20 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5–7 years in a senior plant leadership role.
• Strong exposure to refrigeration/HVAC manufacturing or allied industries.
