Job Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of the facility, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all occupants. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills to coordinate various maintenance activities, manage staff, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a solid mechanical and electrical knowledge, along with experience in supervising teams and managing projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the facility, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and contractors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Oversee repair work and maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to schematics and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify areas needing attention or improvement.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialised repairs or services as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead projects related to facility upgrades or renovations, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Foster a culture of safety within the team by promoting best practices and adherence to health regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership skills with prior supervising experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required.
