Company: It's a UK based MNC, manufacturers of the top international luxury goods and decoration brands in the world and specialized in creating exquisite and bespoke hand painted wallpapers and fabrics based in Kolkata.

Location: Domjur, West Bengal

Salary: As per the Industry norms

Job Responsibilities of "Fabric Specialist":-

1. All types of fabric sourcing from overseas & local mills for the buyers following the required specification.

2. Fabric development within the sampling department for research & interpretation of new qualities sent as a tech pack included for varied styles in season.

3. Different quality Knit, Woven & Non-Woven fabric development with local mills.

4. Fabric quality follow up, risk assessment & provide technical & managerial solutions.

5. Analysis - fabric structure, texture, composition, design & dying technique to develop new quality fabrics as per buyer requirement.

6. Sample to bulk quality, quantity, technical, delivery monitoring & sustainable product development.

7. Fabric sourcing & vendor development of new weaves & qualities according to the trend supplied by multiple buyers every season.

8. Coordinating with the washing department for special finishes, the hand feel & aesthetic dry processing.

9. Study market trends of the latest finishes of fabric, price analysis & negotiation with suppliers for sourcing best quality fabrics.

10. Weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing & printing process follow up for sample development.

11. Development of fabric suppliers for different types of fabrics (domestic & international level). Develop more than one supplier for a fabric type to keep as a backup, if one supplier fails to give delivery, another will deliver fabrics.

12. Arranging the mocks and swatches according to wash type & preaching levels for a range library presentation.

13. Taking charge of the fabric sample store library, maintaining MIS of all issuance & clearances.

14. Colour assessment through visual, pantone & X-rite.
