Executive/ Senior Executive - EDI

Role & responsibilities

• EDI Transaction Management:

  Monitor, validate, and process incoming and outgoing EDI documents (e.g., 304, 310, 315, 322, 404, 410,214 status messages) using ESLs ERP integrated EDI engine.

• Troubleshooting & Resolution:

  Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve EDI failures, communication errors, data mapping issues, and translation errors. Collaborate with partners, internal IT, and operational staff to diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions.

• Partner Onboarding & Support:

  Assist in the setup and testing of new EDI connections with carriers, freight forwarders, ports, terminals, and customers. Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to our trading partners.

• System Maintenance:

  Perform routine maintenance on EDI systems, including updating mapping guidelines, maintaining trading partner profiles, and ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., EDIFACT, ANSI X12, VDA, XML).

• Documentation & Process Improvement:

  Create and maintain detailed documentation for EDI processes, partner requirements, and issue resolution procedures. Identify opportunities to automate processes and enhance system reliability and efficiency.

• Stakeholder Communication:

  Serve as a primary point of contact for EDI-related inquiries. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (Customer Service, Operations, IT) and external partners to provide status updates and ensure alignment.

• Compliance & Best Practices:

  Stay current with maritime EDI standards, protocols, and industry best practices to ensure our systems remain compliant and efficient.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in an EDI support, analyst, or implementation role.
• Hands-on experience with EDI translation software (e.g., Cleo, Boomi, SPS Commerce, True Commerce, IBM Sterling Gentran).
• Strong understanding of EDI standards and transaction sets (e.g., EDIFACT, ANSI X12), particularly those relevant to shipping and logistics (e.g., ORDERS, IFTMBC, IFTSTA, APERAK).
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple simultaneous issues.
