As an Executive in the Office of Press and Media at our University, your role is crucial in shaping our public image and narrative through strategic media communications. Your responsibilities will include: - **Media Relations and Outreach:** - Build and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and media houses. - Identify opportunities for proactive media outreach. - Coordinate interviews, media bytes, and feature stories. - Maintain a dynamic media contact database. - **Press Communication and Content Development:** - Draft press releases, media advisories, and statements. - Develop compelling content for feature articles and op-eds. - Support storytelling efforts by identifying strong internal news angles. - **Brand Visibility and Strategic Positioning:** - Contribute to media communication strategies. - Collaborate with internal departments to identify newsworthy activities. - Manage campaign-based communication initiatives. - Utilize traditional and digital media channels for brand presence. - **Event Communication and On-Ground Media Management:** - Plan media engagement activities during key university events. - Facilitate press briefings and on-campus coverage opportunities. - Prepare event-specific press kits and talking points. - **Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis:** - Conduct media monitoring to track coverage and sentiment. - Prepare comprehensive media reports and analyses. - Maintain archives of press releases and media mentions. - Evaluate the effectiveness of outreach activities. - **Thought Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:** - Assist in placing thought leadership articles for senior leadership. - Collaborate with academic teams to translate scholarly work into media-friendly content. **Qualifications:** - 3 - 5 years of experience in writing and crafting content. - Skills in managing media and public relations. - Solid communication skills. - Proficiency in writing for various PR activities. - Ability to work within a team and manage multiple tasks. - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.,
