Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end operations of the cotton bleaching process during the assigned shift.
Monitor bleaching parameters such as temperature, chemical dosage, pH levels, and processing time to ensure consistent quality.
Supervise shift workforce and allocate tasks to operators, helpers, and technicians.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of bleaching chemicals (HO, caustic, wetting agents, stabilizers, etc.).
Inspect machinery (kiers, J-box, washing ranges, dosing systems) to ensure smooth and safe operation.
Maintain continuous production flow and coordinate with dyeing, finishing, and maintenance departments.
Conduct routine checks on fabric whiteness, absorbency, and quality parameters as per standards.
Troubleshoot process deviations and take corrective actions to avoid defects or delays.
Ensure strict compliance with safety guidelines and PPE usage in chemical handling areas.
Maintain shift logs, production reports, chemical consumption records, and downtime documentation.
Monitor effluent and ensure disposal is in line with environmental norms.
Ensure proper housekeeping and adherence to 5S practices within the bleaching area.
Train and guide shift personnel on process control and safety protocols.
Report major breakdowns, chemical issues, or quality deviations to senior management.
