EV Powertrain Engineer

Job Summary:

EV Powertrain Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and integrate

  EV powertrain systems

  including

  e-motors, inverters, transmissions, DC-DC converters, and controllers

  .
• Lead or contribute to the

  architecture and packaging

  of EV powertrain components.
• Perform

  simulation and analysis

  (thermal, structural, electromagnetic) of powertrain components to ensure optimal performance.
• Work with the battery team to ensure seamless integration between

  battery systems and powertrain

  .
• Develop and implement

  control strategies

  for torque control, regenerative braking, thermal management, and drivability.
• Support

  system-level integration, calibration, and testing

  (HiL, SiL, and on-vehicle).
• Work with suppliers for

  component selection, benchmarking, and validation

  .
• Ensure

  compliance with safety standards

  , regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, ASIL), and homologation requirements.
• Analyze test data, identify performance gaps, and recommend design improvements.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including

  mechanical, electrical, software, and vehicle dynamics

  .
• Support failure mode analysis (FMEA), root cause investigations, and continuous improvement.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of

  electric motors (BLDC, PMSM), inverters, and motor control strategies

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, AVL Cruise, PSIM

  , or similar tools.
• Familiarity with

  CAN, LIN, UDS, and other automotive communication protocols

  .
• Experience with

  power electronics and thermal management

  .
• Knowledge of

  automotive standards

  : ISO 26262 (functional safety), ISO 21434 (cybersecurity), etc.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
