Requirement Analysis : Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand data integration requirements, source systems, and business rules. ETL Design and Development : Design ETL workflows, mappings, and transformations using Informatica PowerCenter to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business logic, and load it into target databases or data warehouses. Develop reusable components, parameterized workflows, and error handling mechanisms to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reliability of ETL processes. Data Extraction and Transformation : Extract data from heterogeneous data sources, including relational databases, flat files, XML files, APIs, and web services, using Informatica connectors and data access methods. Implement complex data transformations, aggregations, lookups, joins, and filtering operations using Informatica transformations (e. g. , Expression, Aggregator, Lookup, Filter). Error Handling and Data Quality : Implement error handling strategies, exception handling routines, and data validation rules to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the ETL process. Perform data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation tasks to identify and resolve data anomalies, inconsistencies, and quality issues. Performance Optimization : Optimize ETL performance by fine - tuning session configurations, partitioning strategies, and cache settings to improve data throughput, processing efficiency, and resource utilization. Monitor session logs, session statistics, and session performance metrics to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize ETL workflows accordingly. Metadata Management and Documentation : Maintain metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and technical documentation to document ETL mappings, transformations, and data lineage. Ensure alignment with data governance standards, naming conventions, and documentation guidelines for ETL artifacts and deliverables. Testing and Validation : Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing of ETL mappings and workflows to validate data accuracy, functionality, and performance. Collaborate with QA teams, data analysts, and business users to verify ETL outputs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with business requirements. Deployment and Maintenance : Deploy ETL code, configurations, and metadata changes across development, testing, and production environments using version control systems and deployment tools. Provide production support, troubleshooting assistance, and incident resolution for ETL jobs, data loads, and data integration processes as needed.
