Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator for steel take-off, who will be responsible for reviewing blueprints, analysing specifications, determining steel quantities, and calculating costs.

Key responsibilities:

Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to gain a thorough understanding of the steelwork requirements.
Accurately determine the quantity and type of steel required for the project, including all necessary connections and fittings.
Develop detailed cost estimates for the steelwork, including material costs, labour costs, fabrication costs, and installation costs.
Maintain accurate records of all estimates, pricing, and project-related information.
Identify and resolve potential issues related to steelwork cost and delivery.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong understanding of structural steel design and fabrication, including knowledge of steel codes and standards.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.
Experience with steel estimating software and tools like Bluebeam, MS Excel, and Tekla Power Fab.
Ability to analyse project requirements and determine cost factors
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and accuracy
