Job Purpose:

To prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for tenders related to road, railway, and building projects. The Tender Estimator will analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and drawings to develop cost proposals that align with project requirements and company capabilities, ensuring profitability and compliance with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications to understand project scope and estimation requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, manpower, equipment, subcontracting, overheads.
• Conduct quantity take-offs using drawings and specifications for civil works including roads, bridges, railways, and buildings.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, and execution teams to gather accurate and updated costing inputs.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages in coordination with technical and commercial teams.
• Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and compare rates.
• Ensure that all estimates are in compliance with relevant codes (IRC, MORTH, CPWD, Indian Railways, etc.).
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions for technical and commercial clarification.
• Support bid strategy, risk assessment, and margin analysis in collaboration with management.
• Maintain a cost database of historical prices, quotations, and market trends for reference.
• Prepare value engineering proposals and alternate design/cost solutions for competitive advantage.
• Track tender submissions, follow up on clarifications, and support post-tender negotiations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Additional certification in Contracts, Estimation, or Project Management is preferred.

Experience:

• 5 years+ of relevant experience in tendering and estimation for infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with road, highway, railway, or building project tenders.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in and quantity estimation tools such as

  , or similar.
• Knowledge of rate analysis, unit costing, and estimation norms.
• Familiar with tender portals and e-procurement systems.
