About the Role

Expert - Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)


Educational Qualifications Required

B.Tech / B.E / M.Tech

  • Environmental Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Engineering Geology (or equivalent)

Diploma or Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Safety from recognized institutions such as:

  • Central Labour Institute (CLI)
  • Regional Labour Institutes (RLIs)
  • NITIE / NITs
  • State Boards of Technical Education


Experience Required

  • Minimum

    5 years

    of overall experience in relevant technical areas
  • At least

    3 years of supervisory experience

    in mining, industrial safety, or EHS domains

Retired officers or professionals with minimum 5 years of service in government mining departments, universities, or research institutes will also be considered if they meet the domain experience criteria


Technical Expertise Required

  • Hands-on experience in

    EHS management systems

    and relevant software tools
  • Familiarity with

    OHSAS standards

    and national safety/environmental regulations
  • Implementation of sustainability initiatives - including natural resource management, energy, and waste conservation
  • Developing specifications and action plans for

    dust, water, energy, and waste

    management
  • Experience in

    industrial hygiene, occupational health

    , and hazard assessments
  • Managing incident investigations, audits, compliance reports, and mitigation strategies
  • Coordinating with project and engineering teams on environmental improvement projects


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, implement, and monitor compliance documents, risk assessments, and HSE evaluations
  • Develop EHS configurations, SOPs, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and operational procedures
  • Lead internal audits and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations
  • Drive awareness through training and safety programs for employees and contractors
  • Lead environment improvement initiatives - including

    dust control, green belt development

    , and

    waste management

  • Oversee industrial hygiene and occupational health risk controls
  • Manage corrective actions post-incident investigations


Preferred Competencies

  • Strong grasp of EHS statutory frameworks, regulatory protocols, and industrial standards
  • Crisis response and incident investigation experience
  • Proficiency in EHS software tools, incident reporting systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives
