Environmental Health and Safety Manager-Surat (Gujarat)

Role & responsibilities Safety Management: Development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs to prevent workplace accidents and ensure regulatory compliance. Health Management: Oversight of occupational health initiatives, promoting wellbeing and managing workplace hazards. Risk Management: Conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies to minimize potential project and operational risks. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant safety, health, and environmental laws, standards, and company policies. Training: Designing and delivering safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for employees and subcontractors. Incident Management: Leading investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans following accidents or near-misses. Emergency Response Planning: Developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans, coordinating drills, and managing response efforts to minimize impact. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred. Professional safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management roles within the railway, signaling, or heavy infrastructure sectors . Strong knowledge of railway signaling systems and associated safety risks. Skills & Competencies In-depth understanding of safety regulations and railway industry standards. Excellent communication and training skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to lead investigations and enforce safety compliance. Proficient in risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Preferred candidate profile Experience working on Metro, Railway, or High-Speed Rail projects. Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as FRA, RIA, or equivalent authorities. Experience with environmental and quality management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
