Job Description

As a Geo-environmental Data Management Specialist at WSP, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Ground & Water Team with various activities related to geo-environmental data management. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing support to the team for all geo-environmental data management activities such as gINT database management, data entry, import/export, and reporting. - Troubleshooting and manipulating gINT databases to provide relevant data for writing geo-environmental reports. - Mentoring Ground & Water staff on gINT, Mobile Data Capture, and Digital Reporting processes, including PowerBI Dashboards. - Developing in-house field digital data capture processes and systems, along with supporting digital innovation strategies. - Promoting the use and understanding of AGS Data Transfer Format within the team. - Reviewing and producing specifications for Ground Investigation Contracts related to digital data delivery. - Supporting wider Environmental strategy for new systems development and technology adoption. - Reporting to the Directors on the performance of the data management system and suggesting improvements. Additional responsibilities of the role include: - Reporting to and consulting with the Directors. - Managing fleet of tablets/smartphones and liaising with the IT department for mobile data contracts. - Identifying technical developments and collaborating with others to ensure data integrity. - Liaising with project teams to understand future data analysis requirements. - Representing WSP at meetings regarding Ground Investigation digital data delivery. - Performing other duties and responsibilities as required by your line-manager. Key Competencies required for this role: - Comprehensive ground investigation data management experience. - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AGS Data Transfer Format and practical experience with gINT or similar systems. - Proven experience in a senior role. - Practical experience in managing database relationships and understanding database systems. - Analytical mindset with excellent communication and people management skills. - Experience in the ground investigation/contaminated land industry. Preferable Skills for this role: - Familiarity with AGS Data Management Working Group and BIM concepts. - Experience with cloud-based geotechnical software and knowledge of software tools. - Ability to write and run macros in Excel and understanding of SQL Databases. - Coding experience using programming languages. Qualifications required: - Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering related discipline.
