Environment Specialist

You will be working towards sustainability of the environment by influencing the decrease of consumption and generation of by-products per tonne of production, as well as minimizing emissions. This includes managing gaseous emissions emanated from plastic burning and other impurities from PCB smelting & Cu scrap treatment, and achieving zero liquid discharge. You will be liaising with statutory authorities for necessary approvals. Your key role will involve planning for necessary changes in view of recent legislations to drastically reduce emissions and discharge. You will focus on operation excellence by ensuring the generation and supply of budgeted plant water, soft water, and de-mineralised water for consumption at the plant through the operation and maintenance of the WTP, ETP, and RO Plant. Additionally, you will oversee sewage treatment and discharge as per specifications and optimize expenses incurred on WTP/ETP operations. You will be responsible for compliance by getting the unit audited every year by an external environmental auditor for both PCB and Ministry of Environment, and filing an Environment Statement by 30th September each year. This statement should declare emission levels, consumption of raw material, and water. You will also be in charge of obtaining environmental approvals and ensuring continuous compliance. Monitoring and improving the performance of team members will be crucial. You will ensure that WTP/ETP/RO teams are trained through specialised agencies and nominated for training at IITs to understand best practices. Additionally, you will coordinate environmental training for operations team and engineers to enhance their knowledge and skills in this area.,
