English Teacher

Job Title: English Teacher – Grade 1

Reports To: Academic Coordinator / Principal

Job Summary:
The 1st Grade English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate English language lessons that help students develop strong reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The teacher will foster a love for language, literature, and communication while supporting overall academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lesson Planning & Delivery
• Prepare and deliver creative, interactive, and age-appropriate English lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
• Use phonics, storytelling, rhymes, and visual aids to develop reading and vocabulary skills.
• Incorporate activities to improve grammar, sentence formation, and comprehension.
• Student Engagement & Learning Support
• Encourage participation through games, role-play, and group activities.
• Identify students’ learning needs and provide additional support or enrichment as required.
• Foster reading habits through library sessions, book reviews, and reading clubs.
• Assessment & Progress Tracking
• Conduct regular assessments (oral and written) to monitor student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and share feedback with parents.
• Classroom Management
• Maintain a positive, safe, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Promote respect, cooperation, and good communication among students.
• Collaboration & Professional Development
• Work with other subject teachers to integrate English skills into other subjects.
• Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
• Parent Communication
• Update parents on student progress during PTMs or through regular communication.
• Suggest home-based activities to improve language skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or related field (B.Ed. preferred).
• Previous teaching experience with early primary classes is an advantage.
• Strong command of English (spoken and written).
• Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
