Description
You will be joining the American Airlines family as an Engineer in the IT Software domain, focusing on developing, deploying, managing, and maintaining software applications that support business processes and user needs. Your role involves working within a diverse, high-performing team dedicated to technical excellence, delivering unrivaled digital products to drive a more reliable and profitable airline. - Write, test, and document technical work products such as code, scripts, and processes according to organizational standards and practices - Devote time to improving the quality and craftsmanship of products and systems - Conduct root cause analysis to identify domain level problems and recommend action items for mitigation - Design self-contained systems within your team's domain and lead the implementation of significant capabilities in existing systems - Coach team members in techniques to improve reliability, resiliency, security, and performance - Anticipate trouble areas in systems under development and guide the team in ensuring observability and supportability - Define test suites and instrumentation to ensure targets for latency and availability are consistently met in production - Lead through example by prioritizing the closure of open vulnerabilities - Evaluate potential attack surfaces in systems under development and guide teams in implementing best practices for mitigation - Lead the team in identifying small batches of work to deliver the highest value quickly - Ensure reuse is a primary consideration in all team implementations and advocate for broad reusability - Mentor teammates and assist them in their learning journeys - Identify opportunities for introducing new approaches to problems in the environment - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS / MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience / training - 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments American Airlines has a relentless drive for innovation and excellence, shaping the future of travel.
