Engineer - Production

Job Summary:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production processes involved in the manufacturing of abrasive products. The role involves ensuring the efficient operation of production lines, minimizing downtime, improving quality control, and managing resources to meet production targets. The position will work closely with other departments such as quality assurance, maintenance, and R&D to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

1. Production Planning and Control

• Plan, organize, and manage production schedules to meet customer demand.
  
• Ensure optimal utilization of equipment, raw materials, and workforce to achieve production targets.
  
• Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  

2. Process Optimization

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  
• Monitor and adjust production parameters to ensure consistent output and quality.
  
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.
  

3. Quality Assurance

• Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality protocols.
  
• Collaborate with the quality control team to resolve quality-related issues during production.
  
• Participate in root cause analysis for product defects or process failures and implement corrective actions.
  

4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Oversee regular maintenance and servicing of production equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or operational issues during production.
  
• Maintain detailed equipment records and ensure all machinery meets safety and performance standards.
  

5. Team Collaboration and Supervision

• Lead, mentor, and support production operators to improve team performance and skill development.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, maintenance, logistics, and quality control to align production goals.
  
• Promote a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  

6. Data Analysis and Reporting

• Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
  
• Prepare and present reports on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality metrics to senior management.
  

7. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety policies.
  
• Maintain production areas in accordance with environmental and safety standards, especially for abrasive manufacturing.
  
• Conduct regular safety audits and support training initiatives on safety procedures and proper equipment handling.
