Engineer-LEAD BUYER (BOP)

Job Description

Role & responsibilities BOP Buyer Engineer is part of the team responsible for procurement of brought out parts from outside suppliers. As part of the team the Buyer will ensure effective inventory management through optimization of BOP stocks at both supplier and Company end. Buyer must be willing to travel within India and abroad at supplier ends. Sound knowledge of Procuring Sheet Metal Stamping, Tubing, fasteners & Rubber Parts. Predict Consecutive customer schedules & accordingly float Schedules to Suppliers. Monthly and weekly Scheduling to all BOP suppliers as per lead time in advance. Keep BOP schedules maintained in SAP-ERP system. Daily Triggering BOP suppliers as per inventory levels. Keep Co-ordination with production and stores team to fulfil daily requirements of BOP. Keep Daily co-ordination and follow ups with BOP suppliers to fulfil all daily requirements. Timely Review supplier end Finish Goods and Raw Material inventory. Maintain minimum and maximum BOP inventory levels in Stores by following reorder levels. Ensure packaging and transportation standards being followed by BOP suppliers. Should suggest Supplier End process and product cost saving. Monitor and calculate delivery performances of BOP suppliers. Should have knowledge of import and communication skills to handle overseas suppliers. Should have knowledge of KANBAN & FIFO systems. Keep Co-ordination between BOP suppliers and recommended RM suppliers. Support stores and QA department while resolving BOP stock variances and Quality issues. Review supplier production capacity variations on timely basis. Support development & SQA Team. Must have Good communication skills to handle BOP suppliers ethically. Must be hard worker and having positive attitude. Must have good in Excel & Power point Knowledge & Experience. Daily & Monthly MIS Reports preparation & Mail to Concern Department. BOP Suppliers Monthly Audit & Report. Preferred candidate profile SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE EVALUATION 1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engg. 2. 3-4 years of experience as a Buyer working in automotive stamping and welding commodity. 3. Candidate must have strong knowledge of the stamping & assemblies processes. 4. Basic Knowledge of the APQP, PPAP, Dies, Fixtures. 5. Must have strong communication and convincing skill to work with supplier. 6. Able to work in various locations locally, nationally or internationally. 7. Ready to Work in Shifts.
