Make an Impact (Job Summary + Responsibilities)

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert VAT Compliance to join our Finance team at Fossil Group in Bangalore. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely VAT compliance across jurisdictions and managing communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding VAT queries, filings, and audits.

What you will do in this role:

• Manage VAT compliance activities including VAT calculations, return preparation, and filings for multiple countries.
  
• Review and reconcile VAT-related entries, ensuring proper documentation and audit trails.
  
• Prepare and maintain accurate VAT records, working closely with finance and accounting teams.
  
• Support and coordinate VAT audits, ensuring timely responses to tax authorities and external auditors.
  
• Handle queries related to VAT from internal teams and external parties, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  
• Monitor VAT law changes and assist in implementing process adjustments or system changes.
  
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international tax regulations.
  
• Support process improvements, standardization, and automation within VAT compliance operations.
  

Who You Are (Requirements):

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  
• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in EMEA VAT compliance, preferably in a multinational environment.
  
• Strong knowledge of VAT calculation rules, filings, and audit processes.
  
• Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of data.
  
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interface with global teams and tax authorities.
  
• Ability to manage deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Prior experience handling VAT audits and resolving complex tax queries is preferred.
