Role Description & Qualification -

Firmware Development

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain firmware on 

    Nordic nRF52/nRF54 Series (BLE 5.2/5.4)

  • Implement ultra-low-power firmware architecture (sleep modes, RTC, timers)
  • Build and optimize firmware for 

    real-time physiological signal acquisition

     (ECG, PPG, BioZ, Temperature, IMU)

Sensor Integration

  • Integrate and calibrate sensors such as:
  • AS7058 (PPG + ECG AFE)
  • AFE4950 (BioZ + ECG)
  • MLX90632 (Temperature)
  • AD5940 (Bioimpedance)
  • Bosch BHI380 (IMU Fusion)
  • BME688 (Environmental sensing)

Communication & Protocols

  • Implement BLE services (Nordic SoftDevice)
  • Create custom BLE GATT profiles
  • Support OTA updates (DFU)

System Architecture & Reliability

  • Develop robust state machines, task schedulers, and interrupt-driven firmware
  • Optimize for power, latency, and memory footprint
  • Debug using JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes

Testing & Validation

  • Unit testing, sensor calibration routines, and quality benchmarking
  • Work with hardware team for DVT/PVT/MP testing

  • Educational Qualifications

    Minimum:

    B.E. / B.Tech

    • Electronics Engineering
    • Electronics & Telecommunication (E&TC)
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Instrumentation Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Biomedical Engineering (with strong embedded exposure)

    Preferred:

    M.E. / M.Tech

    • Embedded Systems
    • VLSI
    • Electronics Design
    • Biomedical Instrumentation
    • (OR equivalent specialization)

    Additional Preferred Certifications:

    • Embedded Systems diploma/certificate (CDAC, NIIT, Coursera, etc.)
    • RTOS/Embedded Linux courses
    • BLE firmware development certifications

    Core Skills

    • Excellent command of 

      C/C++

       for embedded systems
    • Experience with 

      ARM Cortex-M

       microcontrollers
    • Strong understanding of 

      I2C, SPI, UART

      , DMA, interrupts
    • Experience with 

      Nordic nRF SDK / Zephyr OS

    • Power-optimized firmware design
    • Sensor integration & real-time data streaming

    Wearable-Specific Required Skills

    • Experience with 

      PPG, ECG, IMU, BioZ

       sensor integration
    • Real-time signal acquisition and filtering
    • Noise reduction + motion compensation knowledge
    • Experience with low-power wireless protocols

    Preferred Skills (Bonus)

    • Experience in 

      medical/wellness devices

    • Understanding of physiological signal processing (ECG/PPG/HRV basics)
    • Experience with 

      RTOS (FreeRTOS / Zephyr)

    • Mobile app/BLE debugging tools (nRF Connect, LightBlue)
    • Experience working with manufacturing / ODM teams (China/Taiwan/India)
