Job Title: Firmware / Embedded Engineer

Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore / Hybrid

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Firmware / Embedded Engineer to design, develop, and optimize low-level software for semiconductor devices, embedded systems, and hardware platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with hardware, chip design, and validation teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with SoCs, microcontrollers, and custom hardware.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop, test, and debug firmware and embedded software for SoCs, MCUs, and custom hardware platforms.

● Collaborate with chip design engineers to define hardware–software interfaces and bring-up procedures.

● Implement device drivers, board support packages (BSPs), and hardware abstraction layers (HALs).

● Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal environments.

● Conduct board bring-up, hardware initialization, and system integration testing.

● Optimize firmware for performance, power consumption, and memory usage.

● Use debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) for low-level troubleshooting.

● Participate in hardware design reviews, providing input from a firmware perspective.

● Create documentation for code, interfaces, and usage procedures.

● Support post-silicon validation by writing test firmware for chip features and peripherals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.

● 3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.

● Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded programming techniques.

● Experience with ARM Cortex-M/A, RISC-V, or DSP architectures.

● Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and bare-metal systems.

● Proficiency with debuggers, emulators, and hardware instrumentation tools.

● Understanding of peripherals and interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, etc.).

● Knowledge of low-power design techniques for embedded systems.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with firmware for AI accelerators, medical devices, or safety-critical systems.

● Familiarity with Linux kernel programming and device driver development.

● Exposure to secure boot, encryption, and hardware security modules (HSM).

● Knowledge of communication stacks (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CAN, Zigbee).

● Experience with continuous integration (CI) pipelines for embedded firmware.
