Job Description – Jr. Engineer (Quality)

Level: M1

Working Days- Mon- Sat

Working Time- 10 to 7 PM

Department: Quality

Reports to: Sr. Engineer – Quality

Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Electrical

1. Role Overview

The Jr. Engineer – Quality is responsible for executing inspection activities, preparing inspection reports, supporting dispatch documentation, and ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of measuring instruments. The role requires strong functional knowledge, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to support production and quality processes efficiently.

2. Key Responsibilities

Quality & Inspection Activities

· Perform inspection of electrical panels and components as per approved checklists.

· Conduct raw material inspections as per procedures and support GRN acceptance.

· Verify supplier challans and received materials against Purchase Orders.

· Review fabrication, powder coating, calibration, and test reports from suppliers.

· Prepare and maintain inspection reports and required documents for dispatch.

· Check finished products as per inspection checklist and drawings.

· Update ERP with accepted/rejected quantities.

· Maintain and update calibration records of measuring instruments.

· Understand and interpret client drawings (GA, electrical, terminal, BOM, datasheets).

· Ensure compliance with national and international quality standards.

Planning & Coordination

· Understand monthly/quarterly production plans and align quality checks accordingly.

· Support timely completion of tasks assigned by seniors.

· Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers for quality-related requirements.

· Visit client sites when required.

Team Support & Development

· Lead and guide Trainee Engineers assigned under the department.

· Coach and develop team members to ensure effective skill-building.

· Delegate tasks to direct reports where required.

Other Responsibilities

· Manage multiple client requirements and ensure proper documentation.

· Demonstrate openness to innovation and adopt efficient work practices.

· Exhibit continuous learning ability and a positive, reliable attitude.

3. Technical Competencies

· Functional knowledge of quality procedures and standards

· Ability to check DOL/Star-Delta circuits, PID controllers, APFC panels

· Preparing and reviewing inspection reports

· Understanding of approved drawings (GA, electrical, terminal, BOM, datasheets)

· Familiarity with calibration, fabrication, and powder coating reports

· Awareness of national & international quality standards

· ERP data entry for quality modules
