Electrical Liaison - Data Centre

Role Overview

The Electrical Liaison will be responsible for managing all electrical approvals, statutory compliances, and coordination with government authorities and utility providers for data center projects. Will be looking after the statutory compliances of deemed distribution, transmission licensee with MERC. The role ensures timely power availability, adherence to regulations, and seamless electrical clearances during development, commissioning, and operations of mission-critical data center facilities. Cost analysis of EHV, HT infra, tendering & supportive knowledge of execution.

Key Responsibilities

Liaison & Statutory Approvals

• Liaise with electricity distribution, Transmission companies, MERC and other statutory bodies.
• Obtain Grid connectivity from STU, approvals for power supply schemes, substations, Compliances of Deemed Distribution,
• Transmission licensee.
• Manage approvals for load sanctions, energization, EHV infra costing and power commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with local electrical regulatory.

Utility & Power Coordination

• Coordinate with utilities, customers for permanent and temporary power connections.
• Facilitate timely execution of external electrification works, including HT/LT lines and substations.
• Track timelines, follow up on applications, inspections, and clearances to avoid project delays.

Project Support

• Work closely with design consultants, EPC contractors, and internal engineering teams to align drawings and documentation with
• statutory requirements.
• Support electrical testing, inspection, and certification during commissioning phases.

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare, submit, and track applications, drawings, test reports, and compliance documents.
• Maintain records of approvals, permits, and correspondence with authorities.
• Support audits and inspections by statutory bodies.

Operational Support

• Coordinate for periodic renewals, amendments, and upgrades of electrical licenses and permissions.
• Support electrical compliance during expansion, capacity augmentation, and retrofitting of live data centers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• 1520 years of experience in electrical liaison, preferably in data centers, industrial projects, IT parks, or large commercial
• developments, deemed distribution licensee.
• Strong working knowledge of HT/LT systems, EHV, HT substations , and power distribution.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in distribution, transmission licensee, Regulatory compliances, possibly with Tier III / Tier IV data centre projects
• experience.
• Exposure to large power loads (20 MW and above)
• Knowledge of redundancy, reliability, and uptime requirements
