Electrical Engineering Innovation Lead

As a candidate for the role of Electrical Power Systems Engineering Research Lead, you will be responsible for the following key deliverables: - Leading the development of all aspects of research in Electrical Power Systems Engineering, particularly focusing on software-defined power to manage stranded power in a DC. - Collaborating with Design and Engineering (D&E) core teams to develop, implement, and manage DC electrical designs for new development, infrastructure upgrades, and rectifications. This includes incorporating the latest technologies to reduce costs and bring specific cost savings. - Participating in new technology insertions by working closely with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of BOD. - Conducting quarterly reviews of technologies and commercials for key aspects. - Utilizing modelling, simulation, and data management skills, including experience with simulation and modelling software such as MATLAB and COMSOL. In terms of work culture requirements, you may be expected to: - Work beyond usual business hours occasionally to cover critical activities like project deliverables, research outreach, and event presentations. - Work both independently and collaboratively within a team to ensure impactful outcomes of applied research projects. Qualifications required for this role include: - A Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University, with a major in Power Engineering being advantageous. - Experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of medium/low voltage/high voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management/SCADA tools. - Prior knowledge of power system condition monitoring would be beneficial.,
