Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. HT/LT Electrical Works

• Supervise installation of HT panels, transformers, RMUs, VCBs, and associated switching equipment.

• Ensure proper laying, jointing, and termination of 11kV / 33kV cables.

• Coordinate with power supply authorities for HT line approvals, inspections, and energization.

• Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with HT standards and regulations.

2. External Electrical Infrastructure

• Supervise street lighting system installation (poles, LED fixtures, cables, foundations).

• Plan and execute underground electrical cable trenches, ducts, manholes, and junction boxes.

• Set up earthing pits, lightning protection systems, and feeder pillar connections.

3. Site Coordination & Management

• Coordinate with civil engineers, contractors, suppliers, and utility companies.

• Schedule work to match overall land development progress.

• Conduct material inspections and ensure quality compliance with specifications.

• Ensure site safety by enforcing electrical safety protocols.

4. Testing & Commissioning

• Perform insulation resistance tests (IR), continuity tests, HT cable testing, transformer testing, etc.

• Prepare reports and submit documentation to relevant authorities for final approvals.

• Commission the electrical network and hand over systems after successful testing.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily progress reports and material consumption records.

• Prepare as-built drawings for underground cabling and street lighting layouts.

• Assist with BOQ (Bill of Quantities), measurement sheets, and billing processes.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of HT & LT electrical systems

• Ability to read electrical layouts, SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), and trench drawings

• Practical experience in cable laying, jointing, and termination

• Familiarity with local electrical codes and safety norms

• Good communication and project coordination skills

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Electrical site engineers in land development typically work on:

• Government electrical infrastructure projects

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹9,027.75 - ₹43,443.59 per month
