Job Purpose

To support EPC project execution by preparing detailed electrical design inputs, specifications, and drawings as per tender requirements and client specifications for power plant and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Study tender documents, technical specifications, and scope of work to define electrical design requirements for EPC projects.
• Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, equipment sizing (transformers, DG sets, switchgear, cables, etc.), and layout drawings.
• Develop technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for electrical equipment (HT/LT panels, transformers, cables, protection relays, etc.) as per project and tender needs.
• Perform electrical calculations (load flow, short circuit, cable sizing, voltage drop, earthing, lighting, etc.) and support system studies.
• Coordinate with internal teams (tendering, procurement, project execution) and external parties (clients, consultants, vendors) to ensure design compliance.
• Review vendor offers, technical bids, and drawings for compliance with project specifications.
• Support proposal preparation by providing technical inputs, BOQs, and designbased cost estimates.
• Ensure all designs and documents adhere to applicable Indian and international standards (IS, IEC, IEEE, etc.).

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of handson experience in electrical design for:
• Power plants (thermal, gas, hydro, or renewable)
• Heavy industrial / process plants (cement, steel, refinery, etc.).
• Strong practical knowledge of HT/LT systems, switchgear, transformers, protection schemes, and control systems.
• Proven experience in EPC project design and tendering (preparation of SLDs, specifications, BOQs, and technical bids).

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD / EPLAN / similar CAD tools for electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, or similar) is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical standards (IS, IEC, IEEE, etc.) and statutory clearances.
• Ability to interpret tender documents and convert requirements into detailed design inputs.
• Good communication and coordination skills with project, procurement, and client teams.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Profile

• Experience in EPC turnkey projects (especially in power transmission, substations, or industrial plants).
• Exposure to solar, BESS, or other renewable energy projects is a plus.
• Experience in preparing technical bids and supporting tendering activities.
