Job Description

Role Overview: As an Editorial Assistant for the Academic Books department at a publishing company based in New Delhi, your main responsibility will be to provide operational and administrative support to a team of Commissioning Editors in various subject areas. You will assist in list management, content workflows, and handle tasks in their absence such as attending conferences and meetings, and responding to urgent queries. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in organizing key areas of content workflows for titles, including writing blurbs. Key Responsibilities: - Facilitate efficient coordination between editorial and content teams/internal stakeholders. - Take responsibility for key components of the content workflow for titles. - Provide editorial support for the Centaur database, ensuring accurate maintenance of delivery dates and metadata. - Maintain accurate digital files and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. - Communicate regularly with authors, editors, contributors, and internal colleagues from various departments. - Support syndication process by assisting with preparation, presentation, and uploading of syndicate papers. - Coordinate with Indian Operations Coordinators to ensure timely arrangements for permissions and clearance of third-party materials. - Compile blurbs for trade, reference, and professional projects in consultation with Content Managers and Commissioning Editors. - Source covers, endorsers, and coordinate processing with Indian Operation Coordinators. - Assist with processing author/editor contracts and review copies through internal systems. - Support Editors in arranging conference attendance and campus visits. - Make suggestions for workflow improvements and innovations. - Provide temporary cover and support during any vacant Editorial Assistant position. Qualifications Required: - Confident and effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. - Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email. - Knowledge of SAP would be an asset. - Office or administrative experience preferred. - A Master's degree is advantageous but not essential.,
