Job Role:- Dynatrace Observability Engineer

Exp Range:- 8yrs

Job Purpose/Summary:-

This role focuses on end-to-end observability and performance monitoring using Dynatrace across hybrid cloud environments including on-premises, AWS, and Kubernetes.
The engineer should be capable of setting up, customizing, integrating, and automating Dynatrace monitoring at scale, while providing leadership and insights for reliability engineering and incident management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and manage Dynatrace agents across on-prem, AWS, and container (Kubernetes) environments.
• Develop custom dashboards, metrics, alerts, and real-time monitoring views for different teams and business units.
• Integrate and analyze observability data across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Build and maintain modules like distributed tracing, logs, notebooks, launcher, openpipeline, workflow, Grail, bizevents, RUM, Synthetics (HTTP/LDAP), and Dynatrace extensions.
• Integrate Dynatrace alerts with PagerDuty for incident response and automation.
• Create complex Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) scripts for reporting and advanced analysis.
• Automate deployment/configuration tasks using Ansible or similar automation tools.
• Utilize Dynatrace APIs to build integration workflows and automation frameworks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to drive observability excellence.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as technical lead for monitoring practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace observability tools.
• Proven expertise in setting up an managing Dynatrace agents in on-prem and AWS environments.
• Strong background in building custom dashboards, alerts, and monitoring views.
• Experience integrating data from cloud, on-prem, and Kubernetes environments.
• Proficiency with distributed tracing, notebooks, launcher, logs, openpipeline, workflow, Grail, bizevents, RUM, Synthetics (HTTP & LDAP), and Dynatrace extensions.
• Experience integrating Dynatrace alerts with PagerDuty.
• Advanced skills in writing DQL queries.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible for agent automation.
• Experience working with Dynatrace APIs for integration and automation.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Certifications:

• Dynatrace Certified Professional
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect
• Any observability or DevOps automation certification
• Exposure to other tools like Datadog, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic is a plus.
