Drone Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Drone Assembly & Hardware Integration

  • Complete

    mechanical, electrical, and avionics assembly

    of agricultural spraying drones (10L / higher payload categories).
  • Integration of:
    • Flight Controllers (Pixhawk / VK / ArduPilot-based systems)
    • ESCs, motors, propellers, GPS, compass, RTK (if applicable)
    • Spraying system (pump, nozzles, flow sensors, tanks)
  • Wiring, soldering, connector crimping, and power distribution design.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Preventive and corrective

    maintenance of UAV systems

    .
  • Diagnosis and resolution of:
    • Power system faults
    • Sensor errors (GPS, compass, barometer, IMU)
    • Motor/ESC synchronization issues
  • Field-level repair and component replacement.

3. Calibration & Flight Testing

  • Complete calibration of:
    • IMU, compass, RC, ESCs, GPS
    • Flow calibration for spraying systems
  • Conduct

    ground tests, hover tests, and full flight tests

    .
  • Performance validation for stability, payload handling, and spraying accuracy.

4. Software Configuration & Tuning

  • Configuration and tuning using

    Mission Planner / OEM GCS

    .
  • Parameter optimization for:
    • Agricultural spraying missions
    • Payload-induced stability
    • Fail-safe logic (RTL, geofence, battery failsafe)
  • Firmware loading, version control, and compatibility checks.

5. DGCA Compliance & Documentation

  • Sole responsibility for

    DGCA Type Certification (TC) related documentation

    , including but not limited to:
    • System architecture documents
    • Ground & flight test reports
    • Maintenance manuals and SOPs
    • Calibration and conformity records
  • Knowledge of

    DGCA Drone Rules, certification classes, and compliance requirements

    .
  • Coordination with testing agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies if required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum

    2+ years of hands-on experience

    working with

    agricultural drones

    .
  • Mandatory

    Agri-Drone Pilot RPC License

    (DGCA approved).
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Multirotor UAV dynamics
    • Agricultural spraying operations
  • Proven experience in

    DGCA documentation and certification process

    .
  • Ability to work

    independently without supervision

    .

Technical Skills (Must-Have)

  • ArduPilot / Pixhawk / VK Flight Controllers
  • Mission Planner, GCS software
  • UAV electrical systems (Li-ion / LiPo batteries, BMS basics)
  • Sensor calibration & flight tuning
  • Agricultural spray system integration
  • DGCA Drone Rules, certification classes, and documentation
