Job Title: Drone Engineer Location: Pune, India (on-site) Experience: 2–4 years Position - Contract position About Us: Drone Sports India is the country’s first drone soccer esports company, bringing innovation, technology, and excitement together. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Drone Engineer to join our team in Pune. This is an in-person role for someone who not only loves working on drones but can also inspire others through workshops, classes, and live demos. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain drones specifically for drone soccer Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with drones Perform soldering, wiring, and other hands-on drone engineering tasks Assemble, maintain, and manage the Drone Soccer Arena setup Maintain an inventory checklist of drones, spare parts, and equipment Ensure proper upkeep and preventive maintenance of drones and arena equipment Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance drone technology and gameplay experience Stay updated with the latest drone technologies and ensure compliance with safety regulations (DGCA, FIDA, DSAI, Digisky, and other government bodies) for smooth operations Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients Configure, tune, and optimize drones using open-source platforms such as Betaflight and other supported firmware/software Training & Education: Conduct engaging drone soccer classes for kids, teaching drone operation and gameplay Execute live drone demonstrations and presentations for corporate events Create and maintain technical curriculum and documentation for workshops, training, and internal knowledge sharing Support franchise, school, and college programs by delivering hands-on flying & learning experiences Qualifications: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in drone engineering or related fields Strong skills in drone design, assembly, soldering, and maintenance Experience with Robotics and Aerospace Engineering Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to travel up to 30% for events and workshops Previous teaching, workshop, or training experience is a plus Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement Proficiency with drone-related software, tools, and diagnostics Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and work commitment Hands-on experience with open-source flight controller software (e.g., Betaflight, Ardupilot, iNav) Ability to customize PID tuning, flight modes, and safety parameters Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities Ability to manage inventory and maintain equipment effectively High attention to detail with a focus on safety and precision Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Confident presentation and public speaking skills Team player with the ability to work independently when required
