Drafting Lead (Multi-Discipline)

Role Purpose

To lead and manage drafting teams across multiple disciplines (Piping, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation) ensuring all deliverables meet project requirements, client standards, and deadlines. The Drafting Lead will coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients while mentoring draftsmen and implementing drafting efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of draftsmen working on multi-discipline deliverables (SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, schematics, installation details).
• Ensure drawings and documents comply with client/EPC standards (Aramco, Shell DEP, IEC, ISO, etc.).
• Coordinate with engineers and project coordinators to resolve technical/drafting issues.
• Drive QA/QC checks, revision control, and transmittal workflows.
• Manage preparation of deliverables from E3D/Plant3D/Tekla extractions into 2D CAD (MicroStation/AutoCAD).
• Incorporate markups, site as-builts, and brownfield modifications.
• Mentor and train draftsmen in best practices, ensuring consistency across projects.
• Implement automation tools and drafting efficiency improvements for faster delivery.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma / ITI / Graduate in Engineering or Drafting discipline.
• 8-12 years of drafting & design experience in EPC/EPCM projects (offshore/onshore).
• Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Exposure to 3D-to-2D workflows (E3D, Plant3D, Tekla).
• Experience managing large-scale projects (500+ drawings, multiple revisions).
• Knowledge of international drafting standards and EPC client specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
