# **Job Description: Dog Trainer** Location: Better Canine School Plot no. 1, Main Palra Sakatpur Road, Near Vansh Yadav General Store VPO Palra, Sec 70A Gurugram-122101 ## **Job Summary** The **Dog Trainer** is responsible for the effective training and care of dogs at our boarding and training facility. This role involves working with dogs of varying breeds, ages, and temperaments, creating and implementing tailored training programs, and providing guidance to dog owners to ensure long-term success. The ideal candidate is passionate about positive reinforcement training, skilled in canine behavior, and committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both dogs and clients. --- ## **Key Responsibilities** ### **1. Dog Training & Behavior** * Design and implement customized training programs, including basic obedience, advanced skills, and behavior modification. * Apply positive reinforcement techniques to build trust and encourage desired behaviors. * Conduct one-on-one training sessions and lead group classes. * Assess each dog's temperament, learning style, and progress to adjust training plans as needed. * Maintain accurate records of training activities and progress. ### **2. Client Communication & Education** * Provide clear and professional communication with dog owners regarding progress, challenges, and training exercises. * Demonstrate training techniques and offer hands-on guidance for owners to continue training at home. * Conduct client consultations, evaluations, and answer questions on canine behavior, training methods, and care. ### **3. Canine Care & Safety** * Supervise daily dog care, including feeding, exercise, enrichment, and administering medications if required. * Ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained training environment. * Monitor and report any health or behavioral concerns to the Facility Manager or veterinarian. * Adhere to all safety and handling protocols. ### **4. Professional Development** * Stay up to date with the latest research, methods, and best practices in dog training and behavior. * Actively participate in staff meetings, workshops, and team collaboration. * Represent and uphold the facility’s mission, values, and standards of care. --- ## **Qualifications** * Proven professional experience as a dog trainer, with expertise in positive reinforcement techniques. * Strong knowledge of canine body language, learning theory, and behavior modification. * Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment. * Physical capability to handle dogs of all sizes and remain active throughout the workday. ## **Education & Certifications** * High school diploma or equivalent (required). * Professional dog training certification (e.g., CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP, CCPDT, IAABC) **highly preferred**. * Pet first aid and CPR certification (a plus). * Commitment to continued education through workshops, seminars, or advanced training programs. --- ## **Compensation** * **Salary:** ₹25,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications) * Additional benefits may be discussed during the hiring process.
