Director, Quality Assurance

As the Director of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) at Avathon, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of comprehensive test strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Your primary focus will be on devising effective test plans, executing rigorous testing procedures, and providing insightful analysis of test results. Leading a team of talented test and QA engineers, you will foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in software testing practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, design, production deployment, and operations to drive quality initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle. Your contributions will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the overall quality and reliability of our system solutions and software offerings. Your responsibilities will include creating a strategic vision, developing and implementing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives, as well as enforcing and improving quality standards, tools, and methodologies. You will also be responsible for developing and documenting test strategies for complex multi-system projects, managing and tracking test activities at all stages, and providing input into mitigation plans as necessary. To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You should have experience in developing and executing test environments for complex system simulation and emulation, and be able to work with urgency to keep all teams aligned and on track. In terms of qualifications, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience as a quality assurance leader. Experience in manufacturing, energy, or aerospace industries is a plus. You should also have demonstrated ability in creating quality standards, tools, and methodologies, as well as experience in planning and executing end-to-end testing of integrated systems. Proficiency in working with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies, expertise in various types of testing, and hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and testing tools are also required. Additionally, you should possess strong decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills, along with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
