Job Title: Director of Engineering / Senior Engineering Manager

Location: Gurugram (Hybrid)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced engineering leader to drive the execution of high-impact technology initiatives across frontend, cloud infrastructure, and Generative AI. This leader will oversee 20 to 30 engineers distributed across geographies and will be responsible for building scalable platforms, ensuring delivery excellence, and fostering an ownership-driven engineering culture.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional environments and can balance strategic vision with hands-on technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

Lead, mentor, and scale a distributed engineering team of 20 to 30 members across multiple time zones.

Build a high-performance culture based on ownership, accountability, and innovation.

Partner with product and design to align engineering efforts with business outcomes.

Drive recruitment, talent development, and succession planning.

Technical & Delivery Ownership

Provide architectural direction across frontend platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure), and GenAI / LLM integrations.

Guide teams through technical strategy, architecture reviews, and design decisions.

Ensure robust security, scalability, and performance across all systems.

Oversee project execution to ensure predictable, high-quality releases.

Governance & Work Model

Establish governance models that balance agility with compliance and security.

Champion hybrid work practices that foster collaboration and accountability.

Implement best practices in DevOps, code quality, automated testing, and continuous delivery.

Standardize documentation, OKR alignment, and performance measurement frameworks.

Project & Stakeholder Management

Drive project planning, milestone definition, risk management, and delivery governance.

Act as a bridge between engineering, leadership, clients, and cross-functional teams.

Manage priorities and ensure alignment between strategic goals and execution.

Communicate engineering outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

10+ years of overall engineering experience with 5+ years in people leadership roles.

Proven track record managing 20 to 30+ engineers in hybrid and/or global setups.

Strong hands-on understanding of frontend frameworks (React / Vue / Angular) and Backend

Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure), CI/CD, and observability stacks.

Exposure to GenAI / LLM integrations, prompt engineering, or related AI tooling.

Expertise in agile methodologies, project governance, and engineering best practices.

Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-cultural environments.

Demonstrated ability to scale teams and processes in high-growth environments.

Preferred Skills

Experience in productizing AI features or platforms.

Familiarity with MLOps, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

Prior experience in startup or scale-up environments.

Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
