Director of Engineering

Role Overview: As a Director of Technology at REA India Pte. Ltd., you will play a crucial role in driving large-scale technology initiatives, leading engineering teams, and shaping the long-term technology vision for the platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage multiple engineering teams across different product lines such as web, mobile, backend, data, and platform - Drive the architecture workstream by defining system design principles, scalability strategies, and technology standards - Define and execute the technology roadmap aligned with business and product strategies - Build and scale high-performance, secure, and reliable platforms to accommodate millions of users - Drive the adoption of AI/ML, cloud transformation, and automation across products and processes - Collaborate closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to enhance customer experiences - Mentor and develop engineering leaders to build strong succession pipelines - Establish best practices for system design, coding, testing, and deployment - Ensure compliance with security, data privacy standards, and manage technology budgets and vendor partnerships effectively Qualification Required: - 14+ years of overall technology experience with a minimum of 5+ years in a senior engineering leadership role - Proven experience in building and scaling consumer internet, e-commerce, or high-traffic platforms - Strong expertise in architecture design, cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP), microservices, APIs, and DevOps - Exposure to AI/ML-driven solutions in products, search, personalization, or recommendation systems - Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on execution and outcomes - Track record of building, leading, and mentoring large distributed engineering teams Additional Details: At REA India, the core foundation is the culture of inclusion and continuous learning, resulting in being ranked among the best workplaces in India.
