Job Description

Role Overview: As a Director of Engineering at KKR's Enterprise Systems Engineering team, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with business stakeholders and product managers to drive the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise systems across the technology landscape. You will need to be a strategic thinker and hands-on technologist who excels in a fast-paced and complex environment. Collaborating with a global team of full-stack software developers, you will play a crucial role in delivering a seamless digital experience for clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop end-to-end architecture for enterprise platforms, including GRC platforms, Surveillance, and monitoring, Legal enterprise solutions (CLM, Matter and document management), ERM, SOX, Employee portals and Intranet, and custom-built systems. - Define and enforce architectural principles, patterns, and standards. - Lead the creation of solution blueprints, integration frameworks, and platform roadmaps. - Lead and grow a high-performing global engineering team. - Foster a culture of technical excellence, inclusion, continuous learning, and agile delivery. - Guide engineering teams on system design, scalability, security, and data architecture best practices. - Conduct code reviews and contribute to development when necessary. - Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to drive innovation and modernization. - Work closely with business stakeholders to understand complex requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. - Partner with IT operations, cybersecurity, data, and product teams to ensure seamless system integration and compliance. - Maintain high-quality documentation of system architectures, decisions, and standards. - Establish design governance processes and participate in architecture review boards. - Actively contribute to Technology and company-wide priorities, offering input beyond the immediate engineering role to support broader company objectives and initiatives. Qualifications Required: - 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in an enterprise architecture or senior design role. - Deep expertise in enterprise systems architecture (e.g., ERP, GRC, financial systems, SaaS platforms). - Strong background in system integration patterns, APIs, data pipelines, and service-oriented architecture (SOA or microservices). - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). - Proven experience working with identity/access management, security standards, and regulatory compliance. - Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills. - Ability to drive client-focused product design in an agile environment. - Skilled in mentoring engineers on secure, reliable, and scalable software development practices. - Promotes the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and encourages innovative problem-solving. - Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
