Director of Engineering

As the Director/Head of Engineering for our portfolio organization based in Mumbai, your role will involve leading, building, and operating exciting products with a passionate team. Your focus should be on developing and deploying software with a strong emphasis on end-user experience. You should have a proven track record of shipping web-scalable products and experience in building and delivering cloud solutions with delightful consumer experiences. Your expertise in massively scalable distributed compute product architectures, microservices-oriented architectures, and scaling Big Data infrastructure will be highly valuable. Additionally, you should have experience in delivering platform technology and creating an ecosystem of applications and services across multiple verticals and solution offerings. Your role will also include successfully scaling technology infrastructure to support rapid customer/data growth and working in fast-paced, design-forward, product-focused companies. A hands-on, entrepreneurial, start-up attitude is essential, along with the ability to lead and mentor employees. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, build, and operate products with a focus on end-user experience - Develop and deploy software with a strong emphasis on web-scalable products - Build and deliver cloud solutions with delightful consumer experiences - Design massively scalable distributed compute product architectures - Implement microservices-oriented architectures and scale Big Data infrastructure - Deliver platform technology and create an ecosystem of applications and services - Scale technology infrastructure to support rapid customer/data growth - Collaborate in a fast-paced, design-forward, product-focused environment - Demonstrate an entrepreneurial, start-up attitude and mentor employees Qualifications Required: - BS/MS/Ph.D. degree in engineering/technology - Minimum 4 years of experience leading a small team of 6-12 members in an engineering team - Prior work experience on large-scale mobile and web complex products - Strong track record in developing release plans, tracking deadlines, and delivering quality products on time - Technical and architectural skills in platform engineering with the ability to dive deep into any area as needed,
