Job Description

Role Overview: As the Technical Director, Data Engineering at Mastercard, you will play a crucial role in defining and maintaining the data architecture and associated data maintenance, integration, and load processes for the organization's new cross-product cloud technologies. You will lead a high-performing technology team, focusing on team management, team leadership, and hands-on technical deliverables to drive the evolution of data and platform in the cloud environment. Key Responsibilities: - Lead holistic data and platform evolution by supporting multi-product verticals, implementing product features, CI/CD, and maintaining a security posture - Consult with internal stakeholders to ensure infrastructure and database performance through advanced data modeling, query tuning, and indexing strategies - Oversee large initiatives around system and platform performance, providing project direction and technical advice - Plan and implement process improvement efforts to identify opportunities for automation and reduce time to deployment - Perform financial planning, forecasting, and budget tracking to optimize total cost of ownership and allocate resources efficiently - Provide corporate leadership and vision for data systems, supporting the company's objectives and requirements - Build and lead a team of high-performing technology resources to execute product deliverables and platform responsibilities Qualifications Required: - Successfully led complex cross-functional domain initiatives, set project direction, and resolved challenges - Proven ability to set priorities, objectives, and drive deliverables within data technology domains, understanding financial and technological impacts - Experience in automation and/or cloud delivery efforts, supporting financial decision-making - Collaborated with technical leaders to derive new solutions and ensure quality and consistency globally - Proficiency with cloud technologies, micro-service design, DevOps, and NoSQL databases - Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with strong programming skills - Excellent SQL and higher-level programming language skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Understanding of 12-Factor App methodology - Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as NodeJS, Java, JavaScript, etc. About the Company: Mastercard's decency quotient drives its culture and operations, aiming to build a sustainable world that unlocks priceless possibilities for all.
