Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead the transition of U.S. accounting processes from client stakeholders to offshore teams.
  • Conduct detailed process mapping, documentation, and gap analysis.
  • Collaborate with client-side SMEs to ensure accurate and complete knowledge transfer.
  • Define resource requirements and hire/setup offshore teams aligned with client needs.
  • Establish infrastructure, tools, and access required for operational delivery.
  • Finalize SOPs, SLAs, and compliance protocols in coordination with client and internal teams.
  • Design and deliver training programs for offshore teams on client-specific accounting processes, tools, and compliance standards.
  • Implement certification and evaluation mechanisms to ensure readiness.
  • Oversee initial operations during the hypercare phase to ensure service quality and issue resolution.
  • Monitor KPIs and client feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as the primary escalation point during the stabilization period.
  • Plan and execute a seamless handover to the permanent operations team.
  • Ensure documentation, performance metrics, and knowledge repositories are complete and accessible.
  • Conduct post-transition reviews and lessons learned sessions.
  • Upon successful transition, initiate setup for the next client engagement.
  • Contribute to building a scalable and repeatable transition framework for future clients.
  • Post handover, do periodic quality checks, CSAT administration and provide any adhoc support needed by the operations team

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA or CA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in finance operations, client onboarding, or shared services setup.
  • Proven experience in transitioning U.S. accounting processes to offshore teams.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and collaboration
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in a BPO or consulting environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Change management and process improvement mindset.
