Job Description

Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Google Tag Manager containers across websites and web apps.
  • Implement and troubleshoot tags for Google Analytics (GA4), Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, custom conversion events, and third-party marketing platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing and development teams to ensure accurate data collection and attribution tracking.
  • Audit existing tag implementations and recommend optimizations for data integrity and performance.
  • Build and manage data layers, triggers, and custom HTML tags within GTM.
  • Work with front-end developers to implement necessary dataLayer code and resolve tracking-related issues.
  • Support campaign teams with tracking URLs (UTM parameters), event tagging, and performance dashboards.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and tracking specs for campaigns and digital assets.
  • Analyze collected data using Google Analytics and Looker Studio to deliver actionable insights.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience in digital marketing analytics with a strong focus on GTM and technical implementations.
  • Deep understanding of GA4 setup, events, conversions, and cross-domain tracking.
  • Experience working with custom HTML tags, JavaScript variables, and dataLayer configurations.
  • Solid knowledge of cookies, tracking pixels, browser behavior, and consent management tools (CMP).
  • Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, and Looker Studio.
  • Ability to debug tracking issues using browser dev tools, Tag Assistant, and GTM preview mode.

Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow) and basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
  • Experience with server-side tagging or advanced data tracking solutions.
  • Exposure to A/B testing tools (e.g., Google Optimize, VWO, Optimizely).
  • Google certifications (GTM, GA4, Ads) are a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical thinking with a keen attention to technical detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
